Die Ausstellung Beyond the Frame ist ein Raum, der von queeren und FLINTA*-Künstler*innen kreiert und belebt wird. Sieben Künstler*innen und ein Kollektiv kommen zusammen, um zu zeigen, welche Themen sie bewegen, was sie inspiriert und wie sie dieses in Kunst verwandeln. Gleichzeitig soll die Gemütlichkeit des ZeitRaums dazu dienen, sich zu vernetzen. In der Vernissage (28.6.) wird uns MC MARA mit ihre empowernden Texte bereichern und DJ* Milei erweckt die Lust, deine Hüfte zum schwingen bringen. Am folgenden Tag (29.6.) könnt ihr euch zwischen 12&18Uhr von Anni kleine Motive tätowieren lassen & am Abend wird es eine Musik-Performance und eine Open Stage geben – ihr seid dazu eingeladen, zu zeigen, was euch interessiert (Poetry, Performances,Theater, Monologe…). Am Sonntag (30.6.) stellen wir die letzten Stunden aus.

DIE KÜNSTLER*INNEN
The Ugly Cat Collection:
The Ugly Cat Collection ist ein kollaboratives und experimentelles loses Kollektiv von Künstler*innen. Wir arbeiten in verschiedenen Kunstformen und Genres, um queer*feministische Kunst und soziale Räume zu schaffen. Seit der Gründung im 2015 ist The Ugly Cat Collection über die Jahre gewachsen und immer mehr Menschen sind beigetreten. Das Kollektiv ist nicht an eine starre Organisationsstruktur gebunden; es kann organisch wachsen und sich den Umständen und Bedingungen anpassen. Einzelne Künstler*innen kommen für gemeinsame Performances, Proteste, Ausstellungen und Veranstaltungen als Reaktion auf gesellschaftspolitische Themen zusammen. Vor allem aber sind wir Freund*innen.

Toni:
Ich lasse mich von allen Lebewesen inspirieren – von Menschen bis zu Flechten – und liebe es, einige ihrer oder meiner eigenen Momente einzufangen. Ich zeichne und fotografiere. Derzeit interessiere ich mich sehr für den inneren und äußeren Raum von Körpern. Ich glaube, dass Kunst immer politisch ist, aber bisher ist es mir nicht gelungen, meine aktivistische und künstlerische Arbeit auf eine Weise zu verbinden, die für andere sichtbar ist. An dieser Verbindung zu arbeiten, ist eine meiner Ambitionen. Instagram: @toniziebr
Zora:
Ich male oft mit Öl auf Holz. Mich interessieren menschliche Beziehungen, welche oft Platz auf Malereien finden. Dabei wirkt vor allem die Farbe atmosphärisch – viele sagen, meine Bilder haben etwas Traumartiges. Oft setze ich auch Verweise auf die Natur ein. Instagram: @zora.abedini
Lenni:
Lenni ist eins locales Künstli. Lennis Kunst besteht dabei meist aus vielen unfertigen kleinen Projekten. Dey legt sich dabei nicht auf eine bestimmte Kunstform fest, sondern probiert sich in Verschiedenem aus. Dieses Mal wird Lenni Illustrationen und Zines ausstellen. Ob sie wohl fertig sein werden?
Sonst trifft mensch Lenni auch auf Poetry-Lesungen und als aktives Drag-Artisti in einem local Drag Collective, oder als Teil des Siebdruck-Kollectivs Krisiko (IG:@kritischessiebdruckkollektiv). Außerdem ist Lenni Mitglied im offenen Kunsttreff (IG: @artopie_freiburg) im ArTik. Lennis Drag-Kunst als „escargay“ kannst du auf Instagram unter @lenni.escargay finden.
Wim
Meine künstlerische Arbeit verstehe ich als eine Art Suche. Bestimmte Zustände finden in Form von einge-, über- und entfärbten Textilien, Zeichnungen, Fotografien und Texten Ausdruck. So werden sie vermittelbar und sichtbar für einen Moment. Doch der Prozess des Suchens und auch Findens ist für mich oft zentraler als ein einzelnes Ergebnis. Dabei interessiert mich besonders der Raum und das Verhältnis der Dinge in ihm zu- und miteinander.
Luca
Luca (dey/keins) ist ein:e interdisziplinäre:r Künstler:in und arbeitet mit Collagen, Fotografie, Malerei und experimentellen Cello-Performances zu allem was dey gerade spannend, politisch relevant, ästhetisch oder spaßig findet. Deren künstlerischer Instagram-Account heißt: @cetazea
Helen
Wenn ich mit Farben arbeite, gebe ich mich meinen spontanen Gefühlen hin, inspiriert von der Schönheit der Natur sowie meinem Energiefluss. Für mich ist kreatives Arbeiten Ausdruck und Meditation. Tätig bin ich in Gesang, Gitarre, Poesie & Farbe.
Anni
Anni ist queerfeministische*r Tattoo Artist in Freiburg. Anni sticht hand-poked Tattoos, immer mit politischem Anspruch und oft mit politischen Designs. Mit dem Tätowieren verbindet Anni eine Mischung aus Kreativität, innerer Ruhe, satisfying Genauigkeit, den Spaß, Körper zu schmücken und sich von anderen politischen & queeren Menschen inspirieren zu lassen. Anni arbeitet daran, einen diskriminierungssensiblen und saferen Raum für Kund*innen zu schaffen und praktiziert Konsens. Die Tattoos werden auf Spendenbasis gestochen, um auch den finanziellen Möglichkeiten der Kund*innen entgegenkommen zu können.
MC MARA
begeistert ihr Publikum mit ehrlichen Texten und purer Authentizität. Die Freiburger Rapperin steckt mit ihrer Freude an Text und Beats an. MC MARA bringt ihre Wut auf die Bühne, spricht über unangenehme Macker, Online-Dating oder Body Positivity.
DJ* Milei
Pa$ha aka milei ist Teil des feministischen DJ-Kollektivs femBPM.
Pa$ha spielt Trap, Rap, Female Dancehall und Reggaeton, „Booty Bounce“ und Vogueing, hauptsächlich von FLINTA*-Künstler*innen und Queers. Milei konzentriert sich mehr auf eine musikalische und politische Ebene und hofft, ein Bewusstsein für die verschiedenen Realitäten zu schaffen, mit denen Musiker*innen konfrontiert sind. Die Recherche über die Biografie der Musiker*innen und was sie in ihrer Musik thematisieren, sowie die Sensibilisierung für die politische Situation in bestimmten Ländern spielt eine große Rolle bei der Entdeckung und Präsentation neuer Musik. Milei möchte die Zuhörer*innen mit unbekannten Musiker*innen aus aller Welt überraschen und durch die Musik verschiedene Emotionen hervorrufen.
Muna
Mein Blick fällt oft auf die Ästhetik in Alltag, egal wo ich bin, beobachte ich die Details, die Schönheit. Die Welt der Kontraste inspirieren mich sehr, wie das Spiel von Schatten und Licht, Bewegung und Stille. Meine Interessen sind szenische Künste, Mode und Illustration. In dieser Ausstellung übernehme ich hauptsächlich die Organisation.

Barrieren:
Die Ausstellung findet im ArTik | ZeitRaum statt. Der Raum befindet sich im Erdgeschoss und ist durch drei nicht-elektrische Türen zugänglich und berollbar.
Es gibt nur am Freitag und am Samstag Zugang zu einer berollbaren Toilette. Diese liegt außerhalb des Gebäudes im Freizeichen des ArTik Freiburg und ist über einen kurzen Weg über den Hof (leichtes Gefälle) und dann über eine Rampe und eine nicht-elektrische Tür erreichbar.
Der Raum kann gelüftet werden. Der ZeitRaum ist rauchfrei, im Hof darf geraucht werden.
Der ZeitRaum ist voll belegt – es gibt keinen zusätzlichen Rückzugsraum.
Die Open Stage am Samstag wird akustisch verstärkt.
Assistenzpersonen dürfen gern mitgebracht werden. Assistenztiere sind ebenfalls willkommen.

The exhibition Beyond the Frame is a space created and activated by queer and FLINTA* artists. Seven artists and a collective come together to show which topics move them, what inspires them and how they transform this into art. At the same time, the cosy space of ZeitRaum will serve as a place to network. At the opening (28.6.), MC MARA will enrich us with her empowering lyrics and DJ* Milei will make you want to swing your hips. The following day (29.6.), you can get a small tattoo by tattoo artist Anni between 12–6pm and there will be a music performance and an open stage in the evening, you are welcome to show what you are interested in (poetry, performances, theatre, monologues…). On Sunday (30.6.), we will exhibit the last hours.

ARTISTS
The Ugly Cat Collection
The Ugly Cat Collection is a collaborative and experimental loose collective of artists. We work across various art forms and genres to create queer*feminist art and social spaces. Since it was founded in 2015, The Ugly Cat Collection has grown over the years with more and more people joining. The collective is not bound by a rigid organizational structure; it can grow organically and adapt to circumstances and conditions. Individual artists come together to develop joint performances, protests, exhibitions, and events in response to socio-political issues. Most of all, we are friends.

Toni
I am inspired by all living beings – from humans to lichens – and I love to capture some of their or my own moments. I draw and take pictures. Currently I am very interested in the inner and outer space of bodies. I believe that art is always political, but so far I have not been able to combine my activist and artistic work in a way that is visible to others. Working on this connection is one of my ambitions. Zora
I often paint with oil on wood. I am interested in human relationships, which often find a place in paintings. The colour in particular has an atmospheric effect – many say my paintings have something dreamlike about them. I also often use references to nature. Instagram: @zora.abedini
Lenni
Lenni is a local artist. They can’t categorize their art, they are always lost in little different projects and mostly never finish them. This time they will show some paintings and zines they made, will they be finished? We don’t know! Otherwise you find them doing poetry, doing drag or painting stuff. They are part of the open art space called @artopie_freiburg at ArTik. On Instagram, you can see pictures of their drag @lenni.escargay.
Wim
I see my artistic work as kind of a search. Certain states find expression in form of dyed, over- and decoloured textiles, drawings, photographs and texts. In this way, they become communicable and visible for a moment. But the process of searching and finding is often more central to me than a single result. I am also particularly interested in space and the relationship of things in it to and with each other.
Luca
Luca (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist working with collages, photography, painting and experimental cello performances. You can find them on Instagram here: @cetazea.
Helen
When I work with colours, I surrender to my spontaneous feelings, inspired by the beauty of nature and my energy flow. For me, creative work is expression and meditation. I am active in singing, guitar, poetry & colour.
Anni
Anni is a queerfeminist tattoo artist in Freiburg. Anni engraves hand-poked tattoos, always with political aspirations and often with political designs. With tattooing, Anni combines a mixture of creativity, inner peace, satisfying accuracy, the fun of decorating bodies and being inspired by other political & queer people. Anni works to create a discrimination-sensitive and safer space for her customers and practises consensus. The tattoos are engraved on a donation basis in order to meet the financial possibilities of the customers.
MC MARA
MC MARA inspires her audience with honest lyrics and pure authenticity. The rapper from Freiburg is infectious with her joy for lyrics and beats. MC MARA brings her anger to the stage, talks about unpleasant mackers, online dating and body positivity.
DJ* Milei
Pa$ha aka milei is part of the feminist DJ collective femBPM. Pa$ha plays Trap, Rap, female Dancehall and Reggaeton, „Booty Bounce“ and Vogueing, mainly from female artists and queers. Milei focuses more on a musical and political layer and hopes to raise awareness to different realities musicians are confronted with. Researching the musicians biography and on what they are talking about in their music as well as bringing awareness to the political situation in certain countries plays a big part in discovering and presenting new music. Milei likes to surprise the listeners with unknown musicians from countries all over the world and wants to create different emotions through the music. By playing songs from unknown or even oppressed musicians from their home countries, one can always support great musicians and give them a platform.
Muna
My gaze often falls on the aesthetics in everyday life, wherever I am, I observe the details, the beauty. The world of contrasts inspires me a lot, like the play of shadow and light, movement and stillness. My interests are scenic arts, fashion and ilustration. I am mainly responsible for the organisation of this exhibition.

Barriers:
The exhibition takes place in the ArTik | ZeitRaum. The room is located on the ground floor and is accessible through three non-electric doors and is wheelchair accessible.
We can only provide access to a wheelchair-accessible toilet on Friday and Saturday. This is located outside the building in the ArTik Freizeichen building and can be reached via a short path across the courtyard (slight incline) and then via a ramp and a non-electric door.
The room can be ventilated. The ZeitRaum is non-smoking, smoking is permitted in the courtyard.
As the ZeitRaum is at full capacity, there is no retreat room.
The open stage event on Saturday is acoustically amplified.
Assistance persons are welcome. Assistance animals are also welcome.
We speak German and English.
